Description
ASTM B7 HEX BOLT
ASTM A193 B7 Hex Bolt is a Bolting specification for medium-high temperature applications. Hence it is a heat treated Chromium Molybdenum steel and is considered for applications up to 450° Celsius (840° Fahrenheit). Likewise ASTM A193 Grade B7 bolts and threaded studs are manufactured from a chromium-molybdenum steel. Furthermore quenched and tempered (heat treated) to develop the desired mechanical properties (strength). Whereas Grade B7 is the most common grade of A193 bolts used in construction.
Vanadium is the main composition difference that separates B16 from B7. In Brief Allowing the higher temperature limits. Typically ASTM A194 Grade 4 Heavy Hex Nuts are specified with B16 studs & bolts, although Grade 7 is also fairly common.
